Our monthly sessions make it easy to learn about climate and take small, consistent action for more progress.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT IN MY FIRST SESSION?

As long as you bring your laptop (and maybe a snack to share if you'd like!), we'll help get you up to speed on the basics of letter writing, understanding Australian politics and key climate policies.

Anyone is welcome to join, no prerequisite knowledge needed. 3 in 4 of our attendees have never written to an MP before. So feel free to relax, mingle and we'll guide you through!

We usually also have an educational session led by experts or interactive activity.

KINDA FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • What do you guys do? Mostly hang out once a month and learn about climate change (the good, the bad and the ugly), and write to MPs about stuff that we think is a good idea.
  • What difference does it make? More than you think! We've written on several topics that have seen real change such as strengthening the Safeguard Mechanism, New Vehicle Efficiency Standards, aboriginal communities such as the Gameroi people winning an appeal against the Narrabri gas project, withdrawals of major coal project and seismic plasting proposals, amendments to the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Legislation Amendment Bill (yikes, that's a mouthful) and more.
  • Should I know a lot about climate change? Nope. If it's been too painful to make yourself learn about it, then don't worry. We'll help you.
  • What about politics? Nope!
  • I've never gone to a protest or really thought about writing to my MP before. Is that fine? Yes! You're good. And if you have, nice work.
